Wednesday, July 16, 2014: (Quote on Beauty, by Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Remnants of a bird's wing washes up on shore and the waves tease it into curls.

"Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful,

                             for beauty is God's handwriting."

Beautiful. Did you take this photo?

Thanks, Kass. I did. It is one of my favorites from the summer, despite the gruesome nature of finding assorted body parts washed up on the beach. The curves and curls were more peaceful, more perfect than I ever could have arranged. I originally titled this "Swan Song," (it was really a gull wing) because there was such beauty created after death.
